The Session of Christ Alone Church calls a meeting of the congregation for Sunday June 2, 2019, in the sanctuary, following the conclusion of the 10 a.m. Worship Service. The purposes of the meeting are to review the Church Information Form, to determine the size of the Pastor Search Committee, and to elect its members.
You are invited to join us for a study of A Clash of Kingdoms, by historian and Bible teacher Ray Vander Laan, which will begin Sunday, April 28.
From the product description:
“In this fifteenth volume of That The World May Know®, discover how Paul communicated the Good News of Christ to Philippi, a Roman colony that worshipped false gods. Can you live the message as Paul did while he encouraged the church in Philippi to consider itself a colony of heaven, not Rome? Consider your citizenship and the message you convey to the world as Ray Vander Laan takes you deeper into the culture of ancient Philippi.”
The Adult Bible Study class meets on Sundays at 8:30 a.m. in Room 11 on the lower level. Please contact Caroline Tromble or Jodi Buntin for more information.

The film is the shocking true story of the investigation and trial of Dr. Kermit Gosnell – his 30 year killing spree and the political and media establishment that tried to cover it up. Originally investigated for illegal prescription drug sales, a raid by DEA, FBI & local law enforcement revealed crimes they could not have expected within the clinic.
Based on the NY Times Bestseller — Gosnell: The Untold Story of America’s Most Prolific Serial Killer.
Because of the sensitive nature of this film (we do not recommend that children or youth sensitive to this type of content), we will also be showing Shaun the Sheep in our Youth Room for children during this time.

Now it’s up to his spirited and loveable stuffed animals, Winnie The Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and the rest of the gang, to rekindle their friendship and remind him of endless days of childlike wonder and make-believe, when doing nothing was the very best something.
This movie is appropriate for all ages.
There is no charge for Popcorn & a Movie Night, and popcorn and beverages will be served.
You are invited to Secret Church 19: Prayer, Fasting, and the Pursuit of God, on Friday, April 26. We are asking that participants arrive at 5:30 p.m. to get some food and find a place to sit. Wear comfortable clothing, as the simulcast will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will run until midnight (or a little later).
What is Secret Church? Secret Church is a concentrated, intense Bible study. From the Secret Church website:
“The idea behind Secret Church comes from time David Platt spent teaching and ministering among underground Asian house-churches. Due to hostility from the government, from the surrounding community, and even from their own family, many of our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world are forced to gather in secret, sometimes at the risk of their lives.
The plight of our persecuted brothers and sisters also explains why prayer for the persecuted church is a major part of every Secret Church gathering. We remember those who cannot meet openly, asking God to sustain their faith, to change the hearts and the actions of their persecutors, and to use their witness for the spread of the gospel.”
This year’s theme is Prayer, Fasting, and the Pursuit of God … from the Secret Church description:
“Our culture is constantly telling us that we can achieve anything we set our mind to. Sadly, many followers of Christ and many churches have adopted this self-sufficient mindset, relying on their own wisdom and abilities instead of relying on God. But what if we were never intended to be self-sufficient? And what if God has designed us so that our greatest satisfaction is found as we depend on Him fully for everything we need?
In Secret Church 19 we’ll take an in-depth look at the Bible’s teaching on prayer and fasting. We’ll see that our inabilities and weaknesses are the very place where God meets us with His strength and sufficiency. We’ll also see that faithfulness to the mission of Christ requires depending on the Spirit of Christ. Through prayer and fasting, we demonstrate our need for God’s power and our desire for His glory.”
